Makayla Shore Sperbeck, O.D. 

Dr. Sperbeck graduated with her Bachelor of Arts in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from Coker University in Hartsville, South Carolina. She received her Doctor of Optometry degree at Western University of Health Sciences College of Optometry in Pomona, California, where she graduated with honors as a Gold Key Optometric Society member. Dr. Sperbeck received extensive training in neuro-optometric rehabilitation, low vision rehabilitation, specialty contact lenses, and ocular disease through her externships at the Columbia, SC VA Hospital, the Bradenton, FL Outpatient VA Clinic, the Vision Health Institute in Orlando, FL, and Edmonds Eye Associates in Philadelphia, PA. 

Dr. Sperbeck has a special interest in specialty scleral contact lenses, low vision, and concussion/stroke management. She provides empathy and compassion while providing solutions to patients, allowing them to enjoy their hobbies and limit barriers to their vision.

She is a member of the American Optometric Association and the North Carolina State Optometric Society. Outside of optometry, Dr. Sperbeck is an avid sports fan and loves spending time with her husband, family, and two dogs.
